PASCO — A Pasco man accused of attempting to kill his mother-in-law by dropping a bin on her from the rafters of a garage was acquitted in Franklin County Superior Court.
Todd D. Stuart walked free Thursday after the jury returned not guilty verdicts to charges of attempted murder and conspiracy. The 49-year-old spent more than seven months in jail.
Tri-City Herald reported Stuart’s wife, Tashia Stuart, faces trial Oct. 24 on a first-degree murder charge in the death of 58-year-old Judy Hebert. She was shot in March 2011, two weeks after suffering a neck injury when she was hit by the bin.
The prosecutor said the Stuarts plotted to kill Hebert to inherit her property.
