Notes: After more than seven weeks out, Everett captain Ryan Murray makes his long-awaited return from an ankle sprain. Of course, the Tips get just one game from Murray before losing him again to Canada’s tryouts for World Juniors. With center Manraj Hayer (leg) and winger Zach McPhee (knee) out injured, with winger Jesse Mychan serving the eighth game of his 10-game suspension, and with nine defensemen on the roster, the Tips choose to go with seven d-men and 11 forwards. I don’t know why defenseman Dominik Bittner is missing his first game of the season, as he practiced Thursday.
