Everett vs. Seattle: lineup notes; plus Cote leaves team
Published 7:15 pm Friday, November 26, 2010
First off, Tips winger Taylor Cote has left the team and returned home. Cote, a rugged 17-year-old who joined the team after the season started, has been placed on Everett’s suspended list. Everett general manager Doug Soetaert said Cote came to him on Monday and said he wanted to leave, which came as a shock to Soetaert, and that it had nothing to do with playing time. Cote had one goal and two assists in 12 games, showing what I thought was good promise for a young player. Soetaert said the door was still open should Cote change his mind and wish to return. Being on Everett’s suspended list means Cote cannot rejoin Grand Prairie of the AJHL, where he was playing before coming to Everett.
Now for tonight’s lineups:
EVERETT
Forward lines:
Maxwell-Winquist-Tochkin
McCrea-Cumiskey-MacDonald
Birkholz-Stanfield-Fowlie
Erricson-Giebel-Sohor
Defensive pairings:
Murray-Yadlowski
Rissanen-Suer
Morden-Theriau
Starting goalie:
Simpson
Scratches: Walters, Ferraro, Elynuik, Hayer.
Notes: Centers Landon Ferraro and Manraj Hayer (both concussions) and winger Campbell Elynuik (shoulder) are out injured. With Cote leaving the team, that means defenseman Paul Sohor plays at forward.
SEATTLE
Forward lines:
Noebels-Lockhart-Wells
Rouse-Toomey-Gallimore
Elliot-Jacobs-Alos
Lund-Hickman-Sanvido
Defensive pairings:
Dillon-Sutter
Bonsor-Bobbee
Ramsay-Fleming
Starting goalie:
Pickard
Scratches: Troock, Frank, Doty, Baecker.
Notes: Seattle goes with essentially the same team that it fielded against Everett in Kent last Saturday, though the lines have been tweaked. The only player out injured is winger Branden Troock, who has yet to play this season because of a mysterious ailment that’s listed as an “illness.”
