A card for Craig Hartsburg; and what happens with Lincoln?

First off, I received a note from Stitch Mitchell from KRKO radio. They’ve made a get-well banner for Tips coach Craig Hartsburg, who is recovering from heart surgery. Fans can come and sign the banner, which is being displayed at Silver Cup Cafe in the Key Bank building in downtown Everett, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday. It will then be presented to Hartsburg prior to Everett’s home game against Spokane on Dec. 19.
Secondly, the big news around town today is that the USS Nimitz is replacing the USS Abraham Lincoln as the aircraft carrier based in Everett. Of course, the Silvertips’ mascot, Lincoln, is named after the USS Lincoln, even wearing the same No. 72 that identifies the carrier. So is there a change in store for Everett’s mascot, too? Tips general manager Doug Soetaert assured me that their Lincoln is going nowhere. So I don’t think you have to worry about his name changing to Chester.
