Zach Hamill gets the call (updated)
Published 6:42 pm Saturday, April 10, 2010
Former Silvertips star Zach Hamill was called up by the Boston Bruins today and is scheduled to make his NHL debut Sunday morning in Boston’s season finale.
Hamill, the eighth-overall pick in the 2007 NHL draft, is Everett’s all-time leading scorer. This season, playing for Providence of the American Hockey League, Hamill had 14 goals and 30 assists in 75 games.
If my math is correct, Hamill becomes the sixth Everett alum to play in the NHL. Colorado’s Peter Mueller is still the only former Silvertip who’s been an NHL regular. Michael Wall, Ivan Baranka, Riley Armstrong and Shaun Heshka have all had a cup of coffee in the show.

As a bonus, this game is being televised on NBC. The game begins at 9 a.m., so get up early if you want to watch Hamill make his NHL debut.
