Game 5: Everett vs. Kelowna lineup notes

Published 6:48 pm Friday, March 26, 2010

Everett finds itself down another top-four defenseman as Chris de la Lande is scratched because of an upper-body injury. He joins Radko Gudas, who misses his third straight game because of his own upper-body injury, on the sidelines.

With those two out, Everett has just five defensemen dressed. In all likelihood that means some defensive responsibilities for forward Zack Dailey, who has filled in on defense in the past. We’ll have to see how the Tips choose to rearrange their lines should Dailey indeed play on defense. Josh Winquist comes into the lineup as Everett’s 13th forward.

In goal Kent Simpson gets the call for Everett, his third start in the series. Thomas Heemskerk started the previous game.

Forward Tyler Giebel and defenseman Gabe Minville are healthy scratches. Defenseman Nicholas Walters is no longer listed on the roster as the 15-year-old prospect has returned home for school purposes.

For Kelowna it’s business as usual. Forwards Cody Chikie (shoulder) and Kyle St. Denis (concussion) are out injured, while forward Sean Aschim and defenseman MacKenzie Johnston are healthy scratches. Mark Guggenberger gets his second straight start in goal.
