LYNNWOOD — Police were investigating the possible abduction of a woman reported Monday night near Lynnwood.

Witnesses reported seeing a woman, in her teens or early 20s, walking along Larch Way at 5:49 p.m. A blue Ford Explorer reportedly stopped, crossed all lanes of traffic and the driver jumped out and pushed the woman into the vehicle, said Shari Ireton with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office. The Ford did a U-turn and then ended up southbound on 28th Avenue W. The witnesses, who couldn’t see the license plate, called 911.

It was not yet known if the people involved knew each other, Ireton said.

The woman was described as blonde and wearing a white jacket with a fur-lined hood. The man was described as white or Hispanic, 5-foot-9, with a medium build and wearing a gray knit cap.

No additional information had been released as of 8 p.m.
