MONROE — Police on Saturday caught up with vandals who took to the city’s new baseball field for kids with disabilities.

Officers first were called to the Miracle League Field in the Sky River Park about 10:20 a.m. on Saturday, the morning of the field’s opening ceremony, Monroe police spokeswoman Mindy Orcutt said in a press release. Officers found toilet paper all over the field, broken garbage can lids and damage to the landscaping.

Later that evening, police headed for the field again for a malicious mischief call. Officers arrested two local boys, both 12, who admitted to vandalizing the field the night before, Orcutt said. The boys were later released.
