EVERETT — Pick a color, any color. Black? White? Black and white? Grouchy-looking Siamese?

They all need new homes.

On Saturday, 11cats rescued last month from deplorable conditions will be put up for adoption by the Everett Animal Shelter. They were among 40 cats taken from a Lynnwood home on July 31.

The first group of cats will be available for adoption 10 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Saturday For more information, call the shelter at 425-257-6000.

The shelter invited The Herald to take photos of the cats today so people could meet them before Saturday. The kitties range in age from young adult to about 3 years old. All will be spayed or neutered.

The adoption fees are $75 for one cat, or $120 for two.

Some kittens also were rescued but none will be put up for adoption immediately.

Some of the rescued cats will be placed with foster families and others will go to rescue organizations due to their need for treatment of medical problems, shy behavior or socialization needs.

There are plenty of other cats, kittens, dogs, birds and other animals available for adoption at the shelter.

The Lynnwood woman who owned the cats was believed to have suffered from a medical condition. The woman died the day after a 911 call for a medical emergency led to the discovery of the cats. A relative released the animals to county officials.
