Lake Stevens: See if you can get assistance

People who believe they might qualify for public assistance can make an appointment to see a specialist at the Lake Stevens Family Center.

An official with the state Department of Social and Health Services will take appointments from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays at the center, 1803 123rd Drive NE, behind the library.

Applications are also taken 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at the DSHS office, 3704 172nd St. NE, Arlington.

Monroe: Healthy tips for kids and parents

Saturday is Healthy Kids Day at the Monroe-Sky Valley Family YMCA. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., kids and their parents can play fun activities and learn healthy habits. It’s free and open to all.

Mountlake Terrace: Classic movie matinee

Free popcorn and a free DVD are on tap at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Mountlake Terrace Library’s Golden Age of Hollywood matinee at 23300 58th Ave. W. See Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert in “It Happened One Night.” One viewer gets the DVD.

Snohomish: Seniors offer flea market

The Snohomish Senior Center is hosting a flea market from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, 506 Fourth St. They promise tables galore, a boutique for women, baked goods and lunch.
