Gunmen hold up Monroe business

MONROE — They wore business suits to the robbery and left the teller tied up.

Monroe police are investigating a holdup Saturday morning at “Check Into Cash,” a payday loan business in the 19000 block of Lenton Place SE, spokeswoman Debbie Willis said.

Officers found the clerk tied up in the store, she said. Police were told that two men had used a handgun during the holdup and ran off with cash.

The suspects are described as white, about 20 years old, 6-foot-2 to 6-foot-3. Both wore dark business suits.

The store employee wasn’t injured, Willis said.
