Lake Cavanaugh Road to close for repairs

OSO — Lake Cavanaugh Road is expected to close through mid-July to allow Snohomish County road crews to repair damage from winter snow and rain.

The road runs north from Highway 530, starting about 15 miles west of Darrington. The closure, which began Monday, is between mile posts 1.2 and 1.7.

The damaged section is narrow with a 15-foot drop on the outside edge. County public works crews intend to excavate unstable material beneath the roadway and replace it with stable, compacted material.
