Arlington: Chicken dinner Sunday

Stillaguamish Senior Center volunteers plan to serve up an old-fashioned chicken dinner Sunday from noon to 2 p.m. at the center, 18308 Smokey Point Blvd., Arlington.

The menu includes baked chicken, coleslaw, mashed potatoes with gravy, vegetables and dessert. Entertainment by Country Grass is scheduled.

Cost is $8 or $7 for seniors and $5 for those younger than 12. The next chicken dinner is scheduled for Aug. 30.

Learn how to roast your own coffee

Caroline Sumpter plans to teach the art of roasting coffee at home with basic cookware. The class is offered by the Arlington Recreation Department 6 p.m. Thursday in the community room at Arlington Boys and Girls Club, 18513 59th Ave. NE.

Darrington: Railroad man to present slides

The Darrington Historical Society plans an evening with railroad man, author, angler, poet and historian Bob Heirman of Snohomish. The presentation is 6:30 tonight at the Mansford Grange, 1265 Railroad Ave., behind the IGA grocery in Darrington. A slide show of historic railroad photos of the Darrington area is planned.

Stanwood: Teen artists to show works

The Stanwood area’s finest teen artists plan to show their latest work at Stanwood Library.

The show opening is set for 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the library, 9701 271st St. NW.

Stanwood: Twin City Idlers car show Sunday

The seventh annual Twin City Idlers vehicle show is set for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday in downtown Stanwood. The event is free to spectators.
