MONROE — Fire officials invite the community to a meeting today to discuss fire safety.
The meeting is planned for 5:30 p.m. at the East County Senior Center at 276 Sky River Parkway, Monroe Fire Department spokeswoman Richelle Risdon said. An interpreter will be available to translate the presentation into Spanish.
Topics include smoke alarms and candles, carbon monoxide, heaters, cooking safety, planning a fire escape and keeping children safe, Risdon said. Officials also plan to talk about the programs and services offered by the fire department.
Officials at the meeting won’t be concerned with anyone’s immigration status, Risdon said. Everyone is welcome.
