Arlington: Carving couple to be honored
Gil and Bonnie Drake of Arlington are the honored carvers this year at the 24th annual Quilceda Carvers Wood Show.
The show is Saturday and Sunday at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe.
Admission is free, but donations are accepted to support the club’s efforts to preserve the craft of woodcarving. Woodcarvers from across North America plan to attend.
The Drakes are longtime club members. Gil Drake makes carving tools and he and his wife travel throughout the country teaching carving lessons.

Lakewood: Killoqua to celebrate Earth Day
Explore the outdoors, make nature crafts and experience hands-on workshops at Camp Killoqua’s annual Earth Day event, set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the camp, located near Lake Goodwin.
The free family event is open to everyone. The camp has been operated by the Camp Fire USA Snohomish County Council since 1941.

Langley: Earth Day celebration planned
The third annual Earth Day Celebration at Bayview Corner is set for noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at 5603 Bayview Road, 7 miles from the Clinton ferry dock.
Admission is free. The event features workshops on sustainable living, composting, bike repair and solar cooking, a seed exchange, live music and art.

Lake Stevens: Race to stop drug abuse
A 10-kilometer run and 2.5-mile fun run are scheduled for April 25 to raise money for Ryan’s Solution, a foundation that aims to end teen drug use. The race, called Steppin’ Out Against Drugs in Our Community, begins at North Cove Park, which is located behind the Lake Stevens City Hall, 1812 Main St. The 10K is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m., with the fun run starting at 10 a.m. Registration and race pick-up is scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m.

Marysville: Apply for tourism grant money
Marysville is accepting applications for its hotel-motel tax grant program.
Projects by nonprofit groups that promote tourism in the Marysville area are eligible.
The grants come from a portion of the 1 percent sales tax on hotel and motel rooms in Marysville.
Agencies such as historical societies, art groups, chambers of commerce, youth activity organizations and service clubs are examples of eligible groups.
