PASCO — Lynnwood’s Dylan Burnett-Lewis made sure the long drive to Pasco was worth his while.

Burnett-Lewis won the javelin with a throw of 179 feet, 11 inches to place first at the Pasco Invitational track and field meet Saturday at Edgar Brown Stadium.

“He won on the last throw,” Lynnwood head coach Duane Lewis said. “He’s been pretty clutch in the past.”

The Pasco Invitational featured 95 schools, Lewis said, competing from the states of Washington, Oregon and Idaho.

Burnett-Lewis used his last throw to beat Hanford’s Kyle Wagar, who threw 177 feet and one inch.

Burnett-Lewis was the only first-place finish among Snohomish County high school students.

For the girls, Lake Stevens and Shorecrest both tied for 27th place with eight team points.
