Shred it on Saturday

Shred documents free from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot at E&E Lumber, 1364 State Ave., Marysville.

There will be free hot chocolate and coffee supplied by Vinaccio Coffee. The Marysville-Pilchuck High School football team will also be on hand to help unload boxes.

Bring donations of cash or nonperishable food to benefit the local food bank and community service organizations.

Another shredding event is planned for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Mountain Pacific Bank, 3732 Broadway in Everett, or at 19705 Highway 99 in Lynnwood. There is no charge for up to 50 pounds of documents.

Another “tea party” tax protest: A demonstration against high taxes and wasteful government spending is scheduled for 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at Lake Tye Park in Monroe.

Demonstrators plan to wave signs at the intersection of Fryelands Boulevard and U.S. 2. The event also includes music and speakers.

It is part of a movement that brought out thousands of demonstrations around the country on April 15.

Support firefighters, buy plants: The Mabana Flames group offers a plant sale from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Mabana Fire Station, 3651 S. Camano Drive, Camano Island.

Proceeds benefit Camano Island firefighters. Find all the regular merchandise as well as plants from Mabana members’ gardens.

Shop for Eagle goods: A spring bazaar is planned for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Everett Eagles No. 13, 1216 Broadway, Everett.
