Detectives seek motive in Sultan church vandalism

SULTAN — Detectives on Monday were looking for a vandal or vandals who wreaked havoc at three local churches this weekend.
Someone broke into and ransacked two Christian churches and broke the windows at another one sometime Saturday night or early Sunday morning, Snohomish County sheriff’s spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said.
Officers don’t know why the churches were targeted, but the motif appears to be vandalism, Hover said. The incidents are not considered hate crimes at this time.
Police are asking anyone with any information about these incidents to call the sheriff’s east precinct in Sultan at 425-388-6260.
