Thelma Johnson

Thelma Johnson of Lake Stevens celebrated her 100th birthday Jan. 7.

She was born Jan. 7, 1909, in a farmhouse in Gary, Minn., during a snowstorm.

Thelma is still very independent and enjoys bingo, craft time and entertainment. She lives at Ashley Point Senior Community, where a party was held for her. About 70 people attended, including Thelma’s family and friends.

Thelma attributes her long life to eating healthy food and not smoking, and her Scandinavian background.
