PULLMAN — Baylor officials have moved the school’s football game against Washington State to Friday night to avoid complications caused by the approach of Hurricane Ike. The hurricane is currently in the Gulf of Mexico and is expected to reach the Texas coast this weekend.

Kickoff is now set for 5:30 p.m. PT Friday, Baylor announced on Thursday. Details on possible television or video webcast of the game are being explored and will be announced as soon as possible.

The game had been scheduled for 9:30 a.m. PT on Saturday and was to be televised nationally on Fox Sports Net. That original day and time posed potential travel problems for fans, the Washington State travel party and the television crew.

Baylor’s campus is currently scheduled to remain open and operational through Friday.
