Gas station approval on council agenda tonight

The design for a planned gas station at Norm’s Market could be approved tonight by the Lake Stevens City Council.

The special meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Lake Stevens School District Educational Services Center, 12309 22nd St. NE.

Norm’s Market is located at 10027 Lundeen Parkway.

The City Council’s regular workshop is planned following the special meeting. A discussion of county urban design standards is among the scheduled items.

Monroe

Senior center to hold fundraising breakfast

Everyone is invited to a monthly pancake breakfast from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at The East County Senior Center, 276 Sky River Parkway.

The breakfast includes eggs, ham, sausage, pancakes, coffee, milk and juice prepared and served by volunteers. Cost is $4 for adults and $2.75 for children younger than 12.

Proceeds are used for the center’s activities and programs.

Snohomish

City prepares for Taste of Music Festival

Historic Downtown Snohomish and the Snohomish Historical Society are set to have the inaugural Taste of Music Festival from noon to 7 p.m. on Saturday in the city’s downtown along First Street.

The event is expected to have a main stage on Avenue A, next to the gazebo.

Here is the lineup for the main stage:

Noon: Peter Ali and Friends (Native American flute)

1 p.m.: Thumbnail Theater (various performers)

2 p.m.: Lost Pedro (acoustic guitar trio)

3 p.m.: Tribute to Wired &Unplugged featuring Magdeline, Alex Bishop &Friends

6 p.m.: The Jet City Band (dance band)
