A position switch for Johri Fogerson?

… based on what we saw at practice today, it certainly looks that way. Fogerson, a freshman tailback who did not travel to Oregon, wasn’t with the tailbacks at today’s practice. Instead, he was wearing a white jersey like the rest of the defense (offense was wearing purple) and working with the defensive backs.

Fogerson was a standout safety and running back at Seattle’s O’Dea High School and there had been some speculation that he would be a defensive back at Washington, but throughout fall camp, offensive coaches raved about his skills as a tailback.

Since practice happens after we talk to coaches and players, I won’t have any more details on this move today, but I’ll try to talk to Fogerson and we’ll certainly ask Tyrone Willingham about it tomorrow.
