Brockman doubtful for Wednesday

Two days before the Huskies’ Pac-10 Tournament opener against California, both Jon Brockman and Washington coach Lorenzo Romar say it’s doubtful that the junior forward will be able to play.
Brockman, who sprained his ankle in the second overtime of Saturday’s loss to Washington State, was on crutches again Monday and is wearing a walking boot on his left leg.
Brockman, Washington’s leading scorer and rebounder, said he’s staying hopeful, but said doubtful was the right word when asked his chances of playing.
“But there’s still hope,” he said. “It’s not a shut door by any means.”
Romar also used the word doubtful talking about Brockman’s hopes of playing, saying that the Huskies are, “at this point anticipating him not playing.”
