50 years ago (1958)

Snohomish County Hairdressers Association was celebrating National Beauty Salon Week with a style and talent show at Normanna Auditorium with proceeds going to Providence Hospital Children’s Association and Providence Hospital Auxiliary. Members of Unit No. 16 were Edna Sayre, Joyce Hoffart, Marguerite Semays, Lowanda Conrad, Chloe McCandlis, Winnie Schultz, Velma Johns, Georgia Heathershaw, Robert Hill, Pearl Murray, Louise Mutschler, Yvonne Hill, Blance Bates, Eleanor Kuhlman, Frieda Pierson, Leoan Chaffee, Dellar Wallace, Laura Kessell and Walter Warner. Jean Lagozzino headed the Children’s Association.

25 years ago (1983)

Owners of Snohomish County timber sites would be inducted into the American Tree Farm System at a meeting in the Snohomish County Administration in Everett. The Darrington-area tree farmers included Dave Larson, Hinton Baker and Fred Hodge.

Six South Snohomish County adult volunteers were honored by the South District of the Pilchuck Area Council of Camp Fire. Sharon Moody received the Shawnequas award and Linda Holt earned the Collier award. Certificates of appreciation went to Marie Barker and Ardena Pendleton, while Dottie Charlson received the tenure award. Linda Goodrick received the president’s pin.
