Snohomish wins M-P wrestling tournament

MARYSVILLE — The Snohomish Panthers wrestled in eight of the 14 championship matches and won two en route to a first- place finish at the Marysville-Pilchuck Premier Tournament on Saturday.

Snohomish’s Raylin Lucey pinned Demitri Robinson of Marysville-Pilchuck in the 103-bout. In the 135-match, Snohomish’s Stefan St. Marie had a major decision of 16-5 against Cameron Chlarson of Moses Lake.

Jessy Bosley (152), Chris Myers (160) and Mark Davis (285) each placed second to help lift Arlington to a third place finish.

Wins in the 215 and 285 matches by Tannon Hillis and Michael Pfeiff placed Marysville-Pilchuck in a fourth-place tie with Omak.

Everett Classic At Everett, Oak Harbor took second place at the Everett Classic Saturday night with 153 points, Everett took fourth place with 137 points, and Cascade placed 13 with 39.5 points. Vashon Island took first place with 159.5 points. Everett placed four wrestlers in championship matches Saturday night. For Cascade, Lex and Andy Duncan took first and second place in the 130-pound weight division. Oak Harbor’s Josh Martinez won a 12-4 decision to place first in the 103-pound weight class. Patrick Mucha and Marcus Ford of North Thurston and Alex Steamboat of Vashon Island won outstanding wrestlers of the meet.

Concrete Tournament: Three Darrington wrestlers placed first and the team placed fourth in the Concrete Tournament on Saturday. Johnny Loughnan (119), Joe Dolph (145) and Conner Rounds (215) each pinned their opponents.

Ray Westburg Tournament:Mikey Barnell’s win at 130 pounds was the only first-place finish for Sultan in the Ray Westburg Tournament in Ellensburg. The Turks finished in eighth place out of 16 teams.
