Big game tonight for the Dawgs

It’s a little more than an hour until Washington tips off against Arizona in what is pretty much a must-win game for the Huskies’ NCAA Tournament hopes. At 5-8 in Pac-10 play with only five games left (and only two at home) the Huskies can afford one—if any—losses from here on out. Winning today and Saturday at home is obviously important for the Huskies.

The Huskies will need to do a better job defensively than last time these teams faced, when Arizona rained threes all day in Tucson. The key will be stopping freshman guard Jerryd Bayless, who has been unstoppable of late.

So far, Hec Ed is quiet, but the students are filling in the Dawg Pack now, and a few are warming up their vocal cords shouting at a few Arizona players shooting around.

Should be interesting to see which Washington shows up tonight, the team that knocked off UCLA the last time it played here, or the team that lost three in a row at home before that.

I’ll be back with updates during the game.
