Tuesday afternoon notes

Not a lot of big news from Lorenzo Romar or Tia Jackson, who both met with the media today.

Romar said that freshman Justin Holiday, who missed last week’s games with a sprained ankle and knee, will be out again this week. He also said that the lineup will likely remain the same as the team heads to the bay area.

Jackson talked about this week’s games against seventh-ranked Stanford and ninth-ranked Cal, and said they will provide a good measuring point for her team. The Huskies opened Pac-10 play by getting blown out by both of those schools, but have played better as the season has gone on. We’ll see just how much they’ve improved when they close the regular season with two of the country’s best.

Also, I forgot to pass this along yesterday, but a time has been announced for Washington’s game at WSU. The Huskies and Cougars will tip off at 4:30 and the game will be televised on FSN Northwest.

We’ll get a chance to talk to a few players in a little bit here, so I’ll check back in if anything interesting comes of it.
