So much for that close game I mentioned at halftime. Washington dominated the second half and the result is a 19-point win over Portland State.
Jon Brockman finished with 24 points and 12 rebounds, while Ryan Appleby chipped in 21 points and four assists. His seven three pointers ties the school record held by Senque Carey and Deon Luton. Appleby needed only 11 attempts to make those seven threes, though Carey did it on seven for seven shooting.
All in all it was an impressive night of offense for Washington, which shot 61.8 percent from the field and 52.5 percent from behind the three-point arc. Portland State cooled off substantially late in the game, but still shot 52 percent for the game and 52 percent on threes.
