This just got interesting

The Huskies have to be encouraged heading into the Locker room with a 7-3 halftime lead after a half in which plenty went wrong.

The Huskies dropped two interceptions, turned the ball over in the redzone, and kept an Ohio State drive—the Buckeyes only scoring drive—alive with a running into the kicker penalty on a punt, yet they’re leading the No. 10 team in the country. Ohio State looked like it was going to take a 6-0, but a bad snap on a field-goal attempt led to a low kick, wich Jordan Reffett blocked. That was his second blocked field goal of the season.

The Husky offense then marched down the field for an 80-yard touchdown drive capped by a 23-yard touchdown pass from Jake Locker to Anthony Russo with three seconds on the clock.

The Huskies will get the ball back in to start the second half.

One injury (I think) note. Linebacker Dan Howell has not played yet in this game. Edmonds-Woodway grad Kyle Trew started in the place of Howell, who hasn’t played yet (at least not that I’ve noticed). Howell said he strained his knee against Boise State, but that it wasn’t a big deal. Makes me wonder if something happend to the knee in practice Thursday. We’ll have to find out after the game.

Some halftime stats:

Washington has 204 yards of offense (93 running 111 passing) to Ohio State’s 177 (113 running, 64 passing).

Locker is 10 for 19 for 111 yards with an interception and a touchdown. He has rushed for 69 yards on eight carries.

Ohio State’s Chris Wells has 75 yards rushing on 14 carries.
