Tied after one

The good news for Huskies is that they’re tied with the nation’s top-ranked team after one quarter. The bad news? They should be beating USC. The Huskies took the opening drive to the USC eight yardline with a help from three penalties, including two 15 yarders, but Jake Locker threw an ill-advised pass that was intercepted.

After USC gave the ball back with an interception, a UW drive stalled out at the USC 35. On that drive, Locker missed a wide-open Corey Williams. What’s odd is other than those two throws, Locker has looked about as good passing the ball as he has since the Syracuse game.
