FYI

Published 10:15 pm Friday, July 13, 2007

Starting Monday, almost 2,000 Census Bureau representatives will interview folks in about 72,000 households across the nation for a monthly Current Population Survey.

The survey is co-sponsored by the Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Census Bureau.

You should have received a letter if they chose your home. Some participants will be interviewed by telephone, and others will be interviewed in person by field representatives who carry official identification.

The survey is the primary source of information for state and local governments and businesses regarding the country’s labor force, said Cathy Illian, director of the Census Bureau’s Denver regional office.

Corrections

* The National Center for Health Statistics says that of teens reporting they had had sexual intercourse in 2005, 3 million said they used a condom. The Associated Press incorrectly reported the number in a story on Page A3 Friday, about the health statistics center saying that the number of teens reporting premartial sex decreased in 2005.

* Call it a brain freeze. A graphic showing temperatures around the area on Page A1 Thursday showed the temperature at the Snoqualmie Gourmet Ice Cream Co. as 50 degrees rather than minus 50 degrees.
