Ugly First Half

Washington isn’t doing much right in the first half against Idaho. The Huskies are shooting 33 percent and are taking a lot of 3-pointers, but not making many (5-for-16). Washington has 25 rebounds but that’s mostly because it can’t seem to make any shots (12 of the rebounds are offensive). Jon Brockman is 2-for-8 and had his shot blocked near the rim, helping him get five offensive rebounds. Idaho went 8:31 without a field goal but the Huskies still couldn’t managed more than a 38-29 halftime lead.

Idaho is staying in it by making some 3-pointers and trying to control the tempo a little bit. The Vandals probably aren’t big enough or talented enough to win this game but it’s a concern that the Huskies aren’t already ahead by 20.

The Idaho coach doesn’t really look like a basketball coach. He kind of looks like Fred Flintstone, and he sounds a little like him too. But hey, he’s finding a way to keep his team in the game.
