Stanwood: Woman thrown from car dies
A north Snohomish County woman was killed Tuesday when she was ejected after the car she was riding in left the roadway.
The woman, 21, died just after 3:30 p.m. when a 1993 Mazda Protege left the 25500 block of Marine Drive, Snohomish County sheriff’s Sgt. Ty Trenary said.
The car’s driver, a 27-year-old Lakewood man, was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Trenary did not immediately know the extent of his injuries.
Detectives were at the crash scene into the evening investigating the mishap.
“Speed does appear to be a factor,” Trenary said.
