Today’s the Day

Woke up at about 8:30 this morning, turned on the TV and there was ESPN’s College Gameday. Indeed, today’s the start of the season, and even cynical reporters like me get excited about that. After a month of scrambling to find any kind of information from a program not particularly inclined to share information, in about 3 1/2 hours we’ll all get a good luck at what the Huskies have been working on for the last, well, year. Will they be terrible again, like most predict? Will they give credence to my seemingly insane prediction of a fifth-place finish? We’ll find out in a few hours, and I’m excited to see.
I’ll be heading to Husky Stadium in about two hours, along with the Herald’s “Team Husky” of columnist John Sleeper and writer Rich Myhre, along with photographer Jennifer Buchanan, where we’ll do our best all season to report about this year’s team. I’ll also be updating the blog as often as possible during the game to let you know what I’m seeing, and what it’s like to cover these guys, so check back in often.
So get your team’s colors on, make sure you’ve got your snacks lined up and get excited, because the football season is finally here.
