Too Much Pressure

Isaiah Stanback doesn’t look nearly as composed as he did last week against San Jose State. Part of that is that he’s facing a constant rush from Oklahoma, as the Huskies two tackles – Ben Ossai and Chad Macklin – are struggling and Washington isn’t doing a good job picking up the blitz. I think the Huskies are really missing tight ends Michael Gottlieb and Robert Lewis, particularly Gottlieb, who is a good blocker. Some of Washington’s best work comes out of a two tight end set, and not having that takes a threat off the field for the Huskies, as neither fullbacks – Mark Palaita and Luke Kravitz – are going to do much more than block.
