LAKE STEVENS — They are headed back to Paris to defend their world championship title.
Snohomish County teen ballroom dance partners Erik Linder and Rickie Taylor will be performing in a fundraiser show, “Dancing in Paris,” at 4 p.m. Oct. 25 at Team Fitness, 1109 Frontier Circle E., No. A, Lake Stevens. Admission is by donation.
This is a great chance to see these talented dancers in action and help them cover the cost of this expensive trip.
Donations also can be made by sending a check to Erik and Rickie, The CBZ Foundation, 23461 Ridge Route Dr., No. D, Laguna Hills, CA 92653. More about the foundation is at www.cbzfoundation.org.
The duo began dancing together more than 10 years ago at age 4 and won the first of their many national championships when they were just 7 years old. They’ve been featured on TV’s “Dancing With the Stars,” “America’s Got Talent” and the Oprah Winfrey show.
Now in their teens, Erik and Rickie are preparing for their second trip to the World Championship Ballroom Dance competition in early December at Disneyland Paris. There they will defend their title as the under-16 ballroom dance world champions and also will compete in the championships for Latin dance. This past year, they earned gold medals for the United States, placing first out of 50 couples in the under-16 standard ballroom dance competition.
