Edmonds candidates to appear at Monday forum

Candidates in the City of Edmonds, the Edmonds School District, the Edmonds Port District and the Verdant Health Commission will appear at a candidate forum Monday at 7 p.m. in the Edmonds City Council chambers.

Seventeen candidates for 13 local offices on the Nov. 3 general-election ballot will appear at the forum in the council chambers in the city public safety complex, 250 Fifth Avenue North, from 7 to 9 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Candidates attending include unopposed incumbent Edmonds Mayor Dave Earling, the eight candidates for five Edmonds City Council positions, seven of the eight candidates for four positions on the Edmonds School District board, one of the two unopposed candidates for the Verdant Health Commission board and the two unopposed candidates for Edmonds Port Commission. The only local candidates who haven’t said they would attend are school board challenger Mary Murphy and unopposed Verdant Health Commission incumbent Bruce Williams.

The Edmonds Chamber of Commerce is sponsor of the event.
