Lotz lands with Medicine Hat

There was something of a happy ending for Austin Lotz as the former Everett Silvertips overage goaltender was picked up by Medicine Hat in the overage draft Thursday. Lotz was able to stay in the league and will even get to face his old team on Nov. 20 when the Tips play at Medicine Hat.
Lotz has an opportunity to solidify himself in what has been a poor goaltending situation for the Tigers (2-4-1-0).
Medicine Hat will eventually have to make another overage decision when Trevor Cox returns from a broken hand in two months.
Former Kamloops Blazers forward Luke Harrison was the only other 20-year-old selected and went to Spokane.
Meanwhile there was plenty of social media reaction to the news, including from Lotz himself:
Very excited and privileged to be joining the @tigershockey organization ! Can’t wait to get things going. #cats
