Prep girls soccer: Auburn Mountainview 1, Shorecrest 0 (Shootout)

AUBURN — Shorecrest’s season came to an end with a shootout loss in the first round of the 3A state soccer tournament Wednesday night at Auburn Memorial Stadium. With both the Scots (15-3-1 overall) and Auburn Mountainview (17-3) scoreless through the first 80 minutes — and two five-minute overtime periods — the game went to a shootout, where Auburn Mountainview prevailed 5-3.
