Everett aircraft company settles FAA penalties

SEATTLE — An Everett aircraft maintenance company has agreed to pay $275,000 to settle two Federal Aviation Administration penalty claims.

The U.S. attorney’s office says Aviation Technical Services violated FAA regulations on replacing fuselage skins and supporting planes during work on more than 40 Southwest Airlines Boeing 737s.

The company does not agree to the government’s characterization of its conduct or admit liability. As part of Monday’s settlement ATS did agree to implement policies to promote compliance with FAA regulations.
