MARYSVILLE — Three people were taken to the hospital after a fire broke out in a Marysville garage Tuesday morning.

Grove Street was closed while firefighters put out the blaze east of 55th Avenue NE. The roadway re-opened hours later, said Todd Furness, a battalion chief with the Marysville Fire District.

Crews arrived at the home about 8:42 a.m. The flames were coming from the garage, which had been converted into a living space.

Two people were inside. Another person was in the main house, Furness said. They all got out safely and were taken to the hospital as a precaution due to smoke inhalation.

The garage sustained heavy damage.
