Everett Public Library Sunday Films: See “Breathe” at 2 p.m. Dec. 4 in the auditorium of the main library. The 2014 French film is a coming-of-age tale centered on the friendship of two girls, who soon find their all-consuming friendship puts them on a trajectory toward collapse.

Reel World Film Series: The current series is about Muslims in America. Movies start at 7 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 2936 Rockefeller Ave., Everett. Next up is Jeffrey Nachmanoff’s 2008 film (written by Steve Martin) “Traitor” on Dec. 2 and the L.A.-based “American East” by Hesham Issawi on Dec. 9.
Everett Meaningful Movies: At 6:30 p.m. Dec. 10 at Sanctuary Covenant Church, 4502 Rucker, Everett, see “What Would Jesus Buy?”, a sobering view of shopping that spins out of control at Christmas time. The documentary follows the Rev. Billy and the Church of Stop Shopping gospel choir. Doors open at 6 p.m.
“It’s a Wonderful Life”: The Christmas classic plays on the big screen at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 21 at the Historic Everett Theatre, 2911 Colby Ave. Tickets are $15. Call 425-258-6766.
Independent Spirits Film Series: See “Fargo” at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 28 at the Evergreen Branch of the Everett Public Library. The 1996 Coen brothers movie stars William H. Macy and Frances McDormand.
Sno-King Meaningful Movies: “The Mask You Live In” shows at 7 p.m. Jan. 14, Edmonds Unitarian Universalist, 8109 224th St. SW. Free. Donations accepted. This documentary film written, directed and produced by Jennifer Siebel Newsom explores harmful notions about masculinity in American culture, following boys and young men as they struggle to stay true to themselves while negotiating America’s narrow definition of masculinity.
