As we head into the week of Valentine’s Day, be aware of a fun food events around the area. Here are just some:

Camano Island Inn: A special four-course dinner — “Foods of Passion” — is planned for 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 14. The inn is at 1054 SW Camano Drive. Reserve a spot by calling 360-387-0783.

Russell’s in Bothell: A Wine Dinner is planned for Feb. 7 and 16, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Russell’s is located in a restored 1927 dairy barn on what was once the 150-acre Monte Villa Farms property, 3305 Monte Villa Pkwy. The five-course meal uses locally sourced food and each course is paired with wine. Call 206-264-0400 for reservations.

Chocolate tasting at Country Village: Stop by 15 participating shops between 2 and 5 p.m. Feb. 11 for tastes of a variety of chocolate. This is a free event. Country Village is located at 23718 Bothell-Everett Hwy., Bothell.

Couples Paint &Sip: Enjoy an evening out on Feb. 11 Galaxy Chocolates, 501 Main St., Sultan. Painting instruction will be provided by Christina Sivewright of Sivewright Studios, and served with a side of wine and decadent dessert. Space is limited. Call 360-863-6265.

Red Wine &Chocolate Tour: Whidbey Island Vintners &Distillers Association hosts two weekends of red wine and chocolate. Tours are from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 11-12 and Feb. 18-19. Check out local wineries: Comforts of Whidbey Winery, Spoiled Dog Winery, Whidbey Island Distillery, Blooms Winery Tasting Room and Holmes Harbor Cellars. Tickets $25 in advance, $30 day-of. Hungry Pelican: Enjoy a Valentine’s Day dinner and music by PA Mathison and Steven “Bones” Skelton at the Snohomish restaurant. A three-course dinner includes beverage pairings by Chef Terra. Proceeds support community meals through Longhouse Ministries. Reservations required. The restaurant is at 113 Ave C. Call 360-243-3278.

Edmonds Clam Chowder Cook-Off: Put this on your calendar for later in the month. On Feb. 25, eight local restaurants will compete to win “Best Clam Chowder in Edmonds” award, and participants get to taste and vote. The family event includes live music, crafts and games in the Kid Zone, and more. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 25 at 326 Admiral Way. Prices vary.
