Christian rock bands Switchfoot, Relient K to play Showbox

It’s time to set up camp at the Showbox SoDo.

The Seattle venue is the place to go for shows in the days ahead, as it welcomes a wide array of acts to its stage, including but not limited to Christian rockers, a hip-hop super-duo and some edgy pop electronica.

First up is a visit from the double bill of Switchfoot and Relient K, which will play the venue at 7 p.m. Feb. 4.

Switchfoot got its start on Christian rock radio, but quickly broke into the mainstream with hits like “Dare You to Move” and “Meant to Live.” The group’s slick take on modern rock has given the California act staying power. It’s touring now behind its 10th studio album, “Where the Light Shines Through.”

Relient K charted a similar course, with a pop-punk sound that helped it widen its audience beyond its base among the Christian faithful. The group got its start in the 1990s, and has stayed productive over the decades. The band is touring behind its 2016 album, “Air for Free.”

Then Tove Lo will hit the Showbox SoDo at 8 p.m. Feb. 6.

The button-pushing pop star has made a name for herself with a brand of pop electronica anchored by often-explicit and confessional lyrics. Her new album, “Lady Wood,” landed at No. 11 on the Billboard 200, while its singles have racked up millions of plays.

Next up is the hip-hop super-duo Run the Jewels, which will play the Showbox SoDo at 8 p.m. Feb. 7.

The group began as a loosely constructed and thrown off partnership between rappers El-P and Killer Mike, but quickly outgrew those modest roots. Critical acclaim followed the group, and its fan base ballooned.

The group is touring now behind “Run the Jewels 3,” possibly its most politically incendiary album to date.

Finally, Falling in Reverse will headline the Showbox SoDo at 6 p.m. Feb. 8.

The group, known for rock songs like “The Drug in Me Is You” and “I’m Not a Vampire,” topped the charts with its last album, 2015’s “Just Like You.” The band is working on a new album now, though, so fans may get to hear the act road-test some new material during its Seattle stop.

The Neptune Theatre also will get in on the action with a pair of shows, starting with a visit from one of New Wave’s original fashion plates at 8 tonight, Feb. 3.

Adam Ant’s string of success in the early 1980s included the driving pop of “Ant Music,” “Stand and Deliver” and his No. 1 hit single “Goody Two Shoes.”

Since that successful run, the singer has taken periodic breaks from music to focus on acting. But his focus in recent years has been on music, bringing him back to frequent touring.

Then the Knocks will play the Neptune Theatre at 9 p.m. Feb. 4.

The act’s musical pastiche draws on hip-hop, soul, pop and funk to create the band’s own brand of dance music.

The Knocks’ latest disc, “55,” found the act raising some eyebrows with the track “I Wish (My Taylor Swift),” and teaming with Wyclef Jean on the hit “Kiss the Sky.”
