Organ recital series at Trinity: Lynwood’s Trinity Lutheran Church resumes its popular organ recital series featuring Paul Thornock, director of music at St. James Cathedral in Seattle, in concert at 7 p.m. Feb. 19 at the church, 6215 196th St. SW. Suggestion donation is $15 general, $10 for seniors and students. Trinity’s organ is noted regionally for its sound.
Second Baptist Church Choir Concert: The Black History Month Celebration at 3 p.m. Feb. 25 at the church, 2801 Virginia Ave., Everett, includes a concert by the church choir and many others from around the region. More at www.sbceverett.org.
Steam Powered Giraffe: The quirky act, which includes lots of music, multimedia visuals, pantomime and comedy sketches, performs at 8 p.m. Feb. 25 at the Historic Everett Theatre, 2911 Colby Ave. Tickets are $15 to $30. Call 425-258-6766.
Day of the Accordion: The Northwest Accordion Society (with members from Snohomish County) is celebrating its annual Day of the Accordion on Feb. 25 at the Crossroads Bellevue Market Stage, 15600 NE Eighth St., Bellevue. Eleven bands featuring the accordion will perform a variety of music, from folk, jazz, polkas, zydeco, Scandinavian and popular standards for listening and dancing from 11:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. Admission is free.

Blues and Brews Thursdays: Marysville Kiwanis Club joins the city in offering blues music and brews from a local microbrewery from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on the third Thursdays at the Marysville Opera House, 1225 Third St.; 360-363-8400. $5 at the door. The entertainment continues with the Gin Joints on March 16.
Hot Java, Cool Jazz: The annual concert by Starbucks, featuring some of the region’s most talented young jazz musicians, is set for 7 p.m. March 17 at the Paramount Theatre, 911 Pine St., Seattle. Among the bands that will perform are the jazz bands from Mountlake Terrace and Edmonds Woodway high schools. More at www.stgpresents.org.
Sno-King Community Chorale: The chorale, along with a children’s choir and orchestra, will present the West Coast premiere of Sir Karl Jenkins “Cantata Memoria — For the Children,” commemorating the 50th anniversary of the 1966 disaster that killed 116 children when a coal mine slid into a school in Aberfan, South Wales. The concert is to be presented at 3 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. March 18 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 6215 196th St., Lynnwood.
