Prep softball: Mountlake Terrace 14, Shorecrest 8

SHORELINE — Sophomore Gabby Calhoun struck out nine batters in five innings and went 3-for-5 at the plate with two triples to lead Mountlake Terrace to a win against Shorecrest in Wesco 3A softball.

Jazz Zenk went 3-for-5 with a home run and Sammy Ruiz also homered. Kira Doan, Amaya Kaupp, and Sammy Harter all doubled for the Hawks. Ruiz pitched two innings of relief and struck out four,

For Shorecrest, Jeralyn Pasoquen and Sharon Traulsen tripled and Ivey Uppinghouse was 3-for-4 with a double.
