North Sound Family Fest: The free event is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 4 at the Lynnwood Convention Center, 3711 196th St. SW, Lynnwood. Activities for kids, and information for parents on family fitness, education, food, preschools, performing arts and more. Webbly from the Everett AquaSox will be there. Cascade Mountain Men Show: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 11 and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 12 on the grounds of the Evergreen State Fair, 14405 179th Ave. SE, Monroe. More than 300 traders and exhibitors from across the West will bring their arms, trade goods, arts, crafts and supplies to the show. Demonstrations include blacksmithing, wood spinning and wood carving. Admission is $8. Free for children under 12. More at www.cascademountainmen.com.

Silvana Fair Board Auction: This year’s fair is July 29, but money needs to be raised for the best little one-day free fair in the state. The silent auction begins at 5:30 p.m. and the live auction follows at 6 p.m. on March 11 at Viking Hall, 1331 Pioneer Highway.

Imagine Children’s Museum: Located at 1502 Wall St., Everett. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays. For holders of Electronic Benefits Transfer cards from the state, the museum now admits four people for $3 each per EBT card per visit. Military Family Day, with free admission, is March 5.

Hibulb Cultural Center: Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and noon to 5 p.m. weekends. The interactive exhibit allows visitors to explore how color has influenced Coast Salish people and how it is used today.

Museum of Pop Culture: The museum (formerly EMP) at the Seattle Center, 325 Fifth Ave. N., has current exhibits about science fiction and fantasy, Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana, Star Trek, indie games, the Seattle Seahawks, horror films and more. Seattle Aquarium: Likewise, the aquarium at 1483 Alaskan Way is a good place to take kids when it’s cold outside. More information is available at www.seattleaquarium.org.

Burke Museum: Dino Weekend at the Burke, the state’s Museum of Natural History and Culture, is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 11-12. A recently discovered T. rex lower jaw with teeth is displayed along with a replica of the “Jurassic Park” Jeep. See hundreds of exciting prehistoric specimens and creatures from the Burke’s collection and meet some paleontologists. The museum is at the corner of NE 45th St. and 17th Ave. NE in Seattle.
