EVERETT — An early-morning arrival back from Pasco didn’t hinder the Everett AquaSox on Monday night as they topped the visiting Vancouver Canadians 9-2 before 1,515 fans at Everett Memorial Stadium.

It was the third consecutive win for the AquaSox (6-6). Vancouver slipped to 8-4.

The AquaSox took a 1-0 lead in the second on a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch that plated Onil Pena. Joseph Rosa led off the third with a solo home right to right-center to push the lead to 2-0. It was Rosa’s third homer of the season.

The Canadians cut the deficit to 2-1 when Cullen Large led off the fourth with a double and later scored on a wild pitch, but Johnny Slater hit his third home run in his three-game professional career in the bottom of the fifth to push Everett’s lead back to two at 3-1.

The Frogs tacked on another run in the sixth when Banuelos’ RBI single scored Johnny Adams.

Reggie Pruitt’s two-out RBI single cut Everett’s lead to 4-2 in the top of the seventh, but the Frogs answered with three more in the bottom of the seventh, and two more in the eighth.

Everett starter Michael Suarez (2-0) earned the win as he fanned five and allowed two hits and one run in five innings.
