Mariners’ Iwakuma to pitch in Everett

Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Hisashi Iwakuma is scheduled to pitch for the Everett AquaSox on Saturday as part of his injury rehabilitation.
Iwakuma will face the Eugene Emeralds in a 6:05 p.m. game at Everett Memorial Stadium.
The 34-year-old right-hander is recovering from a strained back muscle he suffered April 21. He has appeared in three games for the Mariners this season, posting an 0-1 record and a 6.61 ERA.
Saturday’s game will be just the second minor-league appearance for Iwakuma, who signed with the Mariners as a free agent in 2012. He threw a four-inning rehab start in 2014 for Triple-A Tacoma, striking out two batters.
