Prep girls soccer: Monroe 4, Marysville Pilchuck 2

MARYSVILLE — Samantha Taylor scored two goals and Courtney Paulino had a go-ahead goal and an assist to lead Monroe (1-0 league and overall) to a Wesco North win. Rebecca Lentz scored both MP goals to offset an opening goal by Monroe’s Payton Wangner and give the Tomahawks a 2-1 lead early in the second half. Taylor’s first goal tied the score in the 50th minute and Paulino converted a penalty kick to put Monroe ahead for good. Sydney Day was in goal for Monroe. Melissa Schuetze handled the goaltending for MP.
